Post Election Euphoria

The day after U.S. election day, U.S. stocks experienced an explosive move upwards as more than 16% of the stocks traded on the NYSE hit new one-year highs on 6th November 2024.

Global stocks have hit a new all time high with 22% of stocks within 5% of record highs.

Does this mean it’s a bad time to invest?

Actually, since 1926, the U.S. market has ended on a new high slightly more than one out of every six weeks, a pretty common occurance.

If history is any guide, new market highs are a positive omen.
